File Manager
Learn what a File Manager is really and just how it is different from its pc equivalent.
A File Manager tool is available in all Internet hosting Control Panels. As the name implies, it's used to manage the files inside an account and all File Managers support a range of standard features - browsing, moving, copying and deleting files. Several Control Panels could provide more advanced capabilities too - changing file and folder permissions or creating and unpacking archives. Though files may be uploaded and downloaded through an FTP client, the File Manager is used a lot more often, so the simpler to use it is, the easier it will be for you to control your presence online in its entirety. The opposite is also true - a File Manager which is not easy to use could make it more annoying and challenging for you to handle your website content, specifically if you lack previous experience.

File Manager in Hosting
The File Manager tool, that's part of our in-house developed Hepsia CP, allows you to administer all of the files you upload to your
hosting account with ease. You may move files and whole folders by dragging-and-dropping them within the account. You could upload content in the same manner - select a file/folder on your computer and drag it to your Internet browser in which the File Manager is loaded. By right-clicking a file or a folder within your account, you could also access context menus with more sophisticated options - you will be able to set up or to unpack an archive, to create a password-protected area, to modify the UNIX permissions via a web interface or to modify the content with a number of editors without ever leaving the CP – an HTML editor, a plain text editor or a code editor. We've also provided help articles and instructional videos, which you can access right from the File Manager to get more information about its capabilities.

File Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers
Our sophisticated, though easy-to-use File Manager will give you complete control over your content and you'll not have any challenges handling the files and folders you set up or upload to your
semi-dedicated server account, even if you have never used a web hosting service before. The options it's offering are only a few mouse clicks away, even the more sophisticated ones including setting up a password-protected folder, creating or unpacking an archive, adjusting UNIX permissions or opening a file in a plain text or an HTML editor. Via right-click context menus, you'll feel as if you’re working on your home computer. In addition, the File Manager supports dragging-and-dropping of files and entire folders - both in the account and from your personal computer. With the latter option, you are able to upload content directly, which takes away the need for any FTP client.
