If you want to transfer a domain from one company to another, you’ll need a unique transfer code, which may be called by various names – an EPP authorization code, an Auth code, a domain password, etc. All these names denote one and the same thing – a code that the domain registrant receives from the present domain registrar and provides to the new one upon ordering. Without a genuine code, a domain name transfer process cannot be initiated and this is one of the protection measures against unauthorized transfers used with all generic and with most country-specific extensions. For even better security, the code includes digits and/or special symbols and is case-sensitive, so if you’d like to transfer one of your domain names, you have to provide the new company with the correct code.
EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting
Getting the EPP transfer authentication code for any domain name registered through us under a hosting account is very easy. You will not have to log in and out of different admin interfaces, as you can manage both your domains and your shared hosting account from one location – our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel. To get the EPP transfer code for any domain, you just need to go to the Registered Domains section and to click on the mini EPP logo, which will be located on the right-hand side of each domain name whose extension supports transfers with a code. Our system will send the code to the domain name registrant’s email right away. If you would like to update the email, you can do it from the very same section of the hosting Control Panel with only a couple of clicks.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us and you have registered a domain name that you want to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer authentication code extremely easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll administer both your domain names and your account. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you will see an EPP logo to the right of your domains, on the condition that their extensions support transfers between domain name registrars with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to make sure that only the domain name owner can get this information. If the currently entered email isn’t valid, you can change it with several clicks without the need to leave this Control Panel section. The change is instant, so you’ll be able to request the EPP transfer code for the specific domain name straight away.
