In case you’d like to transfer a domain from one domain registrar to another, you will need a special code, which may be referred to by many names – an EPP key, an Auth-Info code, a domain password, etc. All these names refer to the very same thing – a code that the domain owner receives from the current domain name registrar and gives to the new one upon ordering. Without a valid code, a domain transfer cannot be started and this is one of the safety mechanisms against unauthorized transfers used with all generic and with most country-code extensions. For even better safety, the code contains digits and/or special characters and is case-sensitive, so in case you wish to transfer one of your domain names, you need to provide the new registrar company with the correct code.
EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting
If you have a cloud hosting, you’ve registered a domain name with us and you wish to transfer it, you can get its EPP authorization code with less than a few clicks. When you sign into your Hepsia Control Panel and go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domain names that you have registered through our company listed alphabetically. To the right of each domain, you will see a tiny EPP icon for all Top-Level Domain extensions that require an EPP code in order to be transferred between registrars. Clicking on the icon will email the code to the domain name owner’s email instantly. In the same section you can also find and eventually modify the email address, if the one there is not valid any longer.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us and you have registered a domain that you wish to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer authorization code stunningly easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage both your domains and your account. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see an EPP logo to the right of your domain names, on the condition that their TLD extensions support transfers between registrar companies with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to make sure that only the owner of the domain can get this info. In case the currently entered email address is not valid anymore, you can update it with a few mouse clicks without the need to leave this Control Panel section. The update is instantaneous, so you will be able to request the EPP transfer code for the respective domain straight away.
